Go Deep with Bruce Rave

How do most people discover new music? According to Edison Media Research, "Radio remains the leader for learning about new music." In every market there's an audience of rock listeners who enjoy new music, they search for it online and off. These are the active rock fans that buy concert tickets and they also tend to be the consumers who support the local music scene. Music discovery is a part of their life style. What station do these listeners go to in your market to discover the best new music?

Imagine having someone on your staff that is totally passionate about music, a person so current on what's out there that they would impress even the most musically dialed in person in your audience? Imagine your listeners knowing that they can depend on your station to sift through all the new releases and bring them only the best, the tunes they'll want to hear and know more about.

Imagine Go Deep - the first and only three-hour weekly program devoted to the radio listeners who really love rock music. Each week your listeners will hear bands that they know and be introduced to the most deserving newer artists, those getting the biggest, most credible buzz. The program is hosted by Bruce Rave and features a unique blend of positive, hooky, upbeat music. Please stream the show demo below while you read on.

Bruce Rave is Bruce Ravid, renowned Capitol promotion and A&R exec, the man Rolling Stone called an "A&R whiz". He was instrumental in the signing and development of such artists as The Knack("My Sharona"), Iron Maiden, Duran Duran, Missing Persons, The Motels, Kraftwerk, Weird Al Yankovic, The Church, and Thomas Dolby("She Blinded Me with Science"). Bruce created the Go Deep program to appeal to the active mainstream rock audience.

His "Rave's Raves" tipsheet, written since 1998, is the must-read for serious rock music fans. Bruce was well ahead of national publicity and airplay on such bands as Muse, Arcade Fire, The Killers and Kings of Leon. He was even ahead of the UK on Brit artists The Ting Tings and The Fratellis. Now, your listeners can enjoy the deeper tracks from known artists and discover the very best of the newer breaking bands. Your station will also be the one rock fans depend on to stay current with artists making a splash each week on late night TV. While the songs all fit the "rock" genre, the music is upbeat, melodic, hooky and, most important, mainstream. Check out recent playlists below. Listen to some late-2009 samples of the show's music - Deep Hooks Music Montage. It was done awhile back to show people the kind of hooks your listeners will hear, and several songs became hits in 2010. Bruce does an all-new music, slightly more eclectic version of Go Deep on Moheak Radio, Fridays from 1-3p Pacific time.

Raves

"After 22 years programming radio from Los Angeles to Fargo, I've heard a lot of good and a lot of bad.  Bruce has got his finger on the pulse of what's happening NOW.  He always picks the best stuff from each artist and his attention to where music is at TODAY and where it's going makes Bruce's ears invaluable to me!  Rave Rocks!"
Michael Steele, Westwood One Networks; founding Program Director of LA's Indie 103.1, which was Rolling Stone's annual "coolest commercial station"

"Bruce's enthusiasm for the discovery and sharing of new music makes me want to turn the radio up."
Dave Benson, Program Director of Seattle's KMTT
