Moheak Music Meeting, April 19

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

This is a special edition, with much of the first hour commemorating the April 20 release of the biopic “Marley”. Moheak’s Native Wayne co-hosted. He is known for his syndicated “Alter-Native” reggae program and his creative work with countless major artists. Wayne is a double Grammy winner. Roger Steffens guested during the first hour. He is a foremost authority on all things reggae and on Bob Marley. Wayne latest production project is Lexo the Great. He joined us, mostly in the second hour and we were treated to some of his ace tracks. The Music Meeting airs Thursday nights on Moheak at 7-9p Pacific, 10-12p Eastern.

Roger brought songs from the soundtrack, including the dramatic “Bedroom Tape”, a cover of “Exodus”, and an alternate version of “Jammin”. Lexo played his “School of America”, “Another Day”, and “Taylor Swift”. Other artists played on the show were Kimbra, Alabama Shakes, Jimmy Cliff, 311 (with Wayne rapping), Wild Belle, Azealia Banks, Tanlines, Grand Duchy, and Tom Jones. Due to the special nature of this show, the panel didn’t rate the songs that were played.

Here is a link to the show. Enjoy.

Rave was Dolby’s first A&R man for the US, and they made a decision together to create a special release for “She Blinded Me With Science”, as the song was written shortly after the album release of  “The Golden Age of Wireless”.
